Mullion started with a house hunt that shouldn't have been this hard.

In 2026, my wife Katie became disabled, and our search for a new home suddenly had very specific requirements: period character with step-free accessibility, close to green space but also on a regular bus route. Simple asks on paper, but in practice, we spent months scrolling through listings that ticked one box and ignored the rest. When we tried the "AI-powered" search tools that were supposed to help, they were no smarter than a keyword filter.

I'm Steve, Mullion's founder. I studied software engineering at university, then spent my career in corporate partnerships and account management — a long way from the code I'd trained in. Our own frustrating search brought me back to my roots, building something that actually understands what a home needs to do for the people living in it, not just what boxes it ticks on a listing site.

Mullion is the algorithm I built to solve that problem properly, one that understands nuance, trade-offs, and real life, so nobody else has to spend months scrolling through homes that were never going to work — they get straight to their unique shortlist.

Finding the right property is only the first step in the journey, though. Our long-term mission is to build a complete AI buying agent — one that goes beyond search to offer the same end-to-end support as a traditional estate agent: helping you find your property, guiding your negotiations and supporting you all the way through to completion.
